The country’s troubled past had long left this South American nation off of most travel itineraries. However, following Netflix’s hugely successful show Narcos, which follows the rise and fall of Colombia’s most notorious resident Pablo Escobar, this long-overlooked country has seen a spike in visitors in recent years.
